If McLachlan ends up being in the mix in any way, Bengals need to add 1 TE this offseason.
If Bengals aren't too keen yet whether McLachlan is good enough to make the roster, they need to add 2 TEs instead.
In my head, I'd love to re-sign Gesicki but also add Tyler Warren.
In a more realistic state of mind though, I'd love to add Warren or Loveland if Gesicki doesn't re-sign. If Gesicki does re-sign, I'd still potentially look for another TE on Day 3 to compete with Gandy/McLachlan.
Ocho, it seems that the strength of this year's draft is interior DL and CB ( and maybe edge) in top-50 - which mirrors our defensive needs. I could see us going DT and CB with the first two picks.
I agree that we need at least a move TE, but ideally to your point, a complete TE would be best. But I am not sure Warren would be in play, unless he falls into late day 2.
I think Mason Taylor may be more realistic in round 3, with the second choice being Gunnar Helm. But a complete TE like Taylor will be gone early round 2, if not late round 1.
EDIT:
If Pitts can be acquired with a mid Day 3 pick and signed to a 5 year deal, I would want him over any other option. Still needing a Taylor type of a complete TE to develop.
