We also drafted two interior d lineman last year and are having to revisit that position early this year. Just not efficient roster building
Meh. Both of those dudes were taken on Day 3.
Not really comparable to taking a 1st round pick the following year.
Day 3 picks are strictly for rotational/depth pieces.
1st and 2nd rounders should be for intentional early, long-term starters.
All was a gamble, of which did not pay off.
McLachlan wasn't ever even going to be guaranteed to make the roster, and we saw nothing of him last year to give any confidence he will this year.
If you're drafting a specific position in Rd 1/2 in back-to-back years though and there's only one spot for both of them, that would be more of a worrisome pick of the first guy.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
