Which is exactly what we would do if that deal with Washington (but not Cleveland) did happen. You get two players who are likely to be very good (in a draft with many DLine players), one for 4 years, the other (better) player for 5. And you're paying way less cap money.

Hey, I'm not against talking out the idea of trading guys at their height. I know it can tough to do because as a fan you feel like you are betraying the players you love to watch but sometimes it makes sense for the team if you can get good value for them. I just don't think Washington would take that deal.

Because there is no guarantee that player(s) are going to be a superstar as a rookie. Proven players command high draft capital in trade because they are just that, proven, verifiable commodities that can be trusted under normal circumstances to deliver expected results; where as draft picks may look great as prospects, there's always the chance that they fail to launch.

For a team who is only a player or two from feeling complete to make that title run, proven vet acquisitions are definitely the way to go. For a team with many holes, like the Bengals, not so much..

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations
