Cap is projected to rise by about 20 million each year. You lock these guys in now and it'll be an afterthought in 3 years. Thats why they should have just done it with Higgins, Chase, etc. as soon as possible, but they are idiots. Lock up your stars ASAP.
This is the part that is so hard to understand about the Bengals front office. The sooner you get the deals done. the less you spend. It seems like there is a new highest paid WR, QB, DE, CB nearly every year. This is instant inflation.
It is great wanting to keep this offense together, but if the defense isn't addressed (more than extending Trey) we will likely miss the playoffs again this season.
