I honestly don’t think getting even an average defense is that tall of a task for Golden. A lot of our issues stem from lack of pass rush. I feel like our secondary, although young, is stacked with talent. I feel like our future at IDL is good with Jenkins and Jackson. If Rankins is healthy, I bet they keep him and don’t pursue BJ Hill aggressively. That sounds like a perfectly Bengal thing to do. Jenkins will be given every opportunity to win the 3T starter job with Rankins, and they’ll probably look to get a cheap vet NT to rotate in w Jackson. The key is finding another pass rusher to play LDE, in my opinion. Hubbard and Ossai do not move the needle to me. Fix the pass rush, generate more from the interior. Hoping for a nice second year leap for both Jenkins and Jackson, in a hopefully more simplified, aggressive defense!
