And I will post once more that Trey and his agent do have cards. There is the hold-in during preseason. There is a hold-out for about half-the-season until he has to show up to earn credit for the season so he can turn free agent next year. Those uncertainties can be very harmful to the team planning for games.
There also is the impact on the other players if they see Trey as being poorly treated because he could get a lot of money and guarantees from another team but the Bengals are hard-balling him. Other teams have renegotiated contracts and taken care of players who were outperforming their contracts.
