The 2025 Bengals Rosters Thread: Coaches & Players
#64
DE Joseph Ossai is back. 1 year, $7 mil. Bit of an overpay for a guy I was hoping to be DE3, but he's a starter atm.

No idea where space is at. $12 mil? More?

Let's go players only.
=====================

II.  Current Player Roster: Signed for 2025 = 53

Italics denotes a player with a zero dead cap hit.

Offense = 26
QB (2): Burrow; Browning
RB (4): C. Brown; Perine, Moss, Milton
WR (6): Chase, Higgins, Iosivas; C. Jones, I. Williams, Burton
TE (5): D. Sample; Gesicki, Hudson, Grandy, McLachlan
OT (3): O. Brown, Mims; Cochran
G (4): Volson; Ford (G/T), Kirkland, Stueber
C (2): Karras (C/G); Lee (C/T/G)
----------------
Defense = 24
DE (5): Hendrickson, Ossai; Murphy, C. Johnson, I. Thomas
DT (4): BJ Hill, Slaton; Jenkins; Jackson
LB (5): L. Wilson, Pratt; Burks, Njongmeta, Heyward
CB (6): CTB, D. Hill; Turner, Newton, Ivey, L. Robinson
S (4): Battle, Stone; Anderson, Anthony
---------------
Special Teams = 3
PK: McPherson

=================

III.  Injured Reserve = 1 (54)
1. Erick All, TE, (knee). Likely season-ending 2nd surgeey.
-----------------------

IV. Signed to Future's Contracts = 13 (66)

These guys do technically take up roster spaces and cap space at the moment. But effectively  they do not, as none of them have any Dead Cap hit if released. These are camp bodies, practice squad types with perhaps a dark horse candidate to make the 53 or two.

But it does give one a better idea if how much space we'd have with a full toster instead of only 44.

III.  Bengals Cap Status

A. Base Cap Calculator
1. NFL Salary Cap = $279,200,000
2. 2024 Bengals Rollover = $5,935,175
--------------
3. Bengals 2025 Cap#: $285,135,175

B.  2025 Bengals Spending
1. Dead Cap = $6,607,962

C. Cap Space Calculator

The most common method via spotrac & OTC is the top 51 method, which is accurate for the off-season, but does not include all 53 players in the regular season, the cost of the practice squad (or possibly rookies), or include low salary guys likely to make the team.

So, top 51 gives a quick idea of howuch space you have, but is gonna overestimate the space by the cost of the PS ($3-$4 mil), 2 low end roster spots ($2 mil), and the cost of you rookie contracts over existing guys (hard to say, depending on who gets cut).

1.  Top 51 Cap Space

No idea where we are now. $12?
