I agree on guard
Interior pass rush or an Edge rusher, we don't need. both.
I think we need a safety, our safties are a weak link
LB to me is not a major need, we have Pratt and Wilson
I think you have a lot of nice to have versus needed listed.
The issue with TE is all our guys are one dimensional, except for All, who is likely out for the year. The issue isn't so much that they are not good at what they do. It is that what they do is too limited.
Sample and Geandy are good blockers. Gesicki & Hudson aren't really TE's at all, more like big slot receivers. Which is good, because Yoshi was 98th/98 WRs at PFF and Chuck Sizzle, Williams, and Burton are worse.
Anywho, the issue is that the personnel grouping gives away the play. You see Grandy or Sample, it's a run (unless Sample is at H-back). If you see Gesicki or Hudson, it is a pass. With All in there, you could not tell.
Though I will admit, the team seems to agree with you.Though the TE FA class was terrible. Most of the TEs in the draft are the pass catching type. But Warren, Ferguson, or the kid from ND would help.
And we will certainly ink another DT/3T. We only have 4 under contract and all are better vs the run than pass rush. I guess you could kick a DE inside to provide pressure. Sample has done in the past. Ossai too. But we rotate 4 DTs regularly. There needs to be some cover.
Still, the needs vs nice to have is a good point.
Need: 1 starting G
Everything else is more of a "nice to have" categoty. Aside from pass rush, we need at least 1, no matter from where it comes: DE, OLB, LB, DT. But I lean towards 2, maybe even 3.
We shall see.The draft is pretty fluid..
