He was likely a top 10 pick if healthy. He likely falls to last third of first round with the injury. I have no idea if he has ever played guard, but a lot of the OT's (and Jackson) have played guard and OT. One of my favorite players all time is Whittworth who played guard for us after being drafted in round 2. He did well and then when we needed a left tackle, he was ready for that as well.
Whit was exactly who I was thinking about too. Trade back, draft Jackson, install him at LG (of course “to compete” but cmon, all he has to do is beat out Volson or Patrick). Then, when OBJr contract comes up, you have some insurance in case you want to move on due to injury or age or price.
