Last time I remember hearing NFL WAR mentioned was when it tried to say that Russell Wilson was the 2019 MVP even though Lamar had a 113 QB Rating, led the NFL in TD passes, and rushed for >1200 yards to make his team be 14-2 with the #1 scoring offense.
Then Lamar obviously won unanimously regardless and I legitimately don't think I had heard about WAR (in the context of football) since.
It's a hilariously useless stat. It tries to say that LaDanian Tomlinson's MVP season where he rushed for >1800 yards and caught >500 yards with 31 total TDs was worth LESS THAN 1/10th of the WAR of Matt Ryan's MVP season.
