Notes from Voluntary Practice

Tobin said he doesn't see a rookie crashing the starting lineup. But he does see regular roles for some draft picks.
"I think we've got starters across the board. If some young rookie can come in and win that job, that's fantastic," Tobin said. "Gone are the days of you take a guy for three years from now. In my opinion, those days are gone. You need real quick development and production. Some production out of your young guys. So we're looking for that."

Duke thinks they can’t draft a G or safety in the first two rounds that’s better than what they have?
I think they can easily find a IOL who is better and than Volson or Ford.  They have some superstars on the team for sure but he’s crazy if he thinks there aren’t some very weak spots where a good rookie could come in and start.

I don't think any GM should give a 17th pick in the draft or those after at 49, 81, 119, 153 and 193 the keys to the castle. It is the coach's job to create competition and decide who starts. I look at the part you ignored or brushed off above, Duke is also saying to these draft picks be ready to work and earn it, we are not giving you 3 years to figure it out.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!
