I like this take a lot. I’ll be honest because I did defecate all over this pick at first and while I’m not yet excited about Shamar Stewart I’m no longer yelling, “WTF, Duke?” every ten minutes.

You see, I too did some research and what I found is Shamar was not playing at Texas A&M to sack quarterbacks. His job was to seal the edge on run plays and eat up running backs bouncing off tackle. These things he did very well.

We have to stop Lamar Jackson and Nick Chubb four times a year and players like Shamar can do it. The Bengals’ run defense hasn’t exactly been stellar and this pick will help stop the leaks.
