I place most of the blame on Trey Hendrickson's agent who is obviously very bad at his job. I looked at his client list a couple weeks back and no one on would even come close to a Hendrickson contract. So I expect they are trying to get as much money as possible too.

The agent negotiates and talks on behalf of the player. Hendrickson is a grown man, probably a smarty guy. He knows what he’s doing and these are he and his families decisions. He’s not pressured or persuaded by an agent to turn down 28M and sit out a year. He’s doing that because he wants to do that.
