im not sure if it was standard procedure to ask for a new contract shortly after signing your last one.. also standard procedure is out the window after major contracts for burrow, chase and higgins, like all teams that have giant contracts with multiple players, the money pot is drying up.. but if true the bengals did offer him a new contract...
