No, it wouldnt benefit the Bengals to sign him to a long term deal now. The Bengals already signed Trey for the 2025 at a good deal before his price went up. He doesnt like that price now and wants more money than his contract. That's his problem. He wants to redo his contract every year when prices go up so signing him now before prices go up next year means nothing. He would just turn around and want to redo his contract next year or the year after.
If the Bengals gave Trey an extension at 32 million a year and Trey had a season with 22 sacks, do you not think he wouldnt come back wanting another raise? Signing him now to a lower contract makes no difference because when prices go up Trey thinks he should be able to ignore his contract and ask for more money even if he just got a new contract the previous year.
