Trey is being a bit unrealistic on years, but the Bengals don't seem to be willing to negotiate. They seem to have their number and they're sticking to it. Same as they did with Whit.
If it is years that is the big hang up on the contract than it makes the Bengals look so much worse in my opinion. I get he's older but if you give him a 3 year extension locking him up the next four seasons. If he starts to gradually decline and he isn't that good in year 3 cut your losses in that last year. It's like the Bengals are willing to risk losing talent and lesser chance of winning in order to avoid a relatively small amount of dead money.
