Trey did not produce in his first 3 seasons. Sorry, but he is not on their level. He will make over 100 million in the NFL - would have been closer to 160 mill if he actually produced in his first 3 seasons. Oh well, thats not the bengals fault. They are the ones that actually paid him his bulk
He also was not a DE those 1st 3 years, but an OLB.
Every since they had him putting his hand in the dirt, he's been fantastic. He has been excellent every year at DE. Period.
He created 26.5 sacks last year, no one else had more than 15. It wasn't close.
Now, he leaves something to be desired vs the run. Not on a level with Garrett or Watt or Crosby there. But he was THE best pass rusher in the league last year, and it was not particularly close. Sacks created, pressures, pressure rate, time to first pressure, sacks. He was top 3 in all those categories, I believe.
He at leastcdeserves the deal Hunter got ($35 mil). They are the same age. If we want to come in ubder that, then give him more years & guaranrees to make up for it.
Hendrickson is an elite player. He is waycabove any level Hilton has ever hit.
