I think the simple fact the Bengals did the 1 year extension show there was a solid argument to the metrics that people mentioned. Otherwise the Bengals wouldn't have done anything. Problem is now all the stats are too good to just slap a 1 year deal on it.
If Trey had just 8 sacks this past 2024 season would anyone be claiming he should be the paid at the top?
