What t3 said. This clause let's them void the guarantees so whatever he doesn't get paid at the start, he is at risk of losing. The Bengals are trying not to pay the bigger upfront guarantees like all the other teams do. So would you rather have 20mil up front and only 10 at risk or 5mil up front and 25 at risk?
