Another guy who had a career year when he was able to pick the mind of a great hitter like Votto.

That said, funny memory there. It forgot the fact that the Reds #2 hitters that year "produced" .228/.281/.350 while hitting into 21 double plays. The .281 OBP in that slot was the worst in baseball and the 21 GIDP was merely 3rd most. There wasn't even a void in front of him, there was an active negative force there because that was where Dusty put guys to "get them going" when they were terrible offensive players. (And lets not pretend Choo was some kind of blazing speed on the bases that could even semi-reliably score from 2nd on a single.)

And #4 hitters that year to make sure he actually got some pitches, rather than leading the NL in intentional walks for the second straight year like he did, had the 20th highest OPS in baseball. You take a great cut of meat, and then use two pieces of shit on either side for bread, and then blame the meat for tasting like shit.

Just a shame you got to watch a future Hall of Fame player for years and all you got out of it was bitterness and no appreciation of what you got to see.
