Other teams waivers state they'll get the same contract even if they suffer an injury in training camp while not under contract.
The Bengals specifically have the word "disabling" before injury. What does that mean? Who knows, but the Bengals Lawyer FO wanted a higher threshold before the player gets protected in there for a reason.
Other teams also have that the contract "shall be commensurate with their draft slot".
The Bengals do not.

If you want your draft picks to act like other team's draft picks, then you should treat them like other team do. You don't demand one-sided concessions and lesser-than-standard protections.
Didn't know all that, thanks again TLL. Then the Bengals are definitely to blame here. I was going off if the clause was the same as other
teams it would be Shemar and his agent's fault, but this changes things.
