This kid not only didn't put up numbers in college, but he thinks that the NFL owes him a large bag of millions with no strings attached on his part. How does that work? I mean, the NFL is a job you need to merit a roster spot and earn your keep. If you are talented and produce, the millions will come. And on the Bengals end, this is the guy most single named by our own message board JN regulars as the name that they did not want to see drafted. The team needs to quit thinking of draft picks as ways to cheapen the roster, and put a football mind in charge to select players that will actually start and flourish in their rookie season.
The poor numbers made me not want Stewart before I saw his film. I was one of the regulars that did not want him. But if you watch the
film he is great at sealing the edge in the run game, he is big, fast and strong. Stewart has everything you cannot teach. I didn't like how
he talked about his contract publicly, so that has got me down on him along with his lack of production.
But he is also right about the language in his contract as TLL has pointed out, they need to take that language out and do it the same as
the other picks right around him with the clause. Get it done Bengals and get Trey extended and I am happy.
I still think Shemar Stewart will be an upgrade to what Sam provided last year at the very least. He is disruptive, big, fast and good against
the run.
