By that logic you could say the team doesn’t need Joe or Jamar because we weren’t a Super Bowl contender last year with them, so why pay them 50 and 40 million/year? Trey is far and away the best player on defense, and his play merits a better contract. Without Trey this is inarguably a bottom 3 d-line. No pass rush will pressure the also weak and thin secondary. Not having Trey is not a recipe for success, nor is trying to strong arm your first round draft pick. But the Family gonna Family, we’ve watched their clown show for 30 plus years.

If they dangled a 3 year extension at Trey near 96 million we’d probably be talking about something else…
