They waited and ended up having to pay $40.25m/yr and $28.75m/yr for Chase and Tee and if they want Trey to play for them it'll be $38m/yr now.
Coulda been $86.5m/yr.
Now it's $107m/yr.
The difference is the amount the 2nd highest paid IOL in the NFL is making.
We will see how it turns out. The key is the guaranteed money which you left out and Tee already lacks major guarantees.
What is Watt guarantee, if 60% or less, then we are still in the game in my opinion. My guess Watt has no guarantee for year 4 and it is also a huge base salary or year 4 is lacedwith a high roster bonus which has no guarantee.
Edit, if his extension is 123 million and he is now getting 21 million (base 2025), then he goes to 143 million and guarantee is 108 million, then leaves 35 million not guaranteed.
Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a record three-year contract worth a reported $123 million. The deal includes $108 million in fully
guaranteed money.
So guaranteed portion is 75.5% if my math is correct
It will tough for Bengals to satisfy his demands is my opinion. I think TJ has been better longer than Trey and is more of an edge rusher than a DE. But, Trey definitely has a case for at least 100 million with 75% guaranteed.
