They complain if we sign them late, them cry when we sign them early. It is kind of comical watching them spin in circles.
Fans don't complain when the FO cancels a contract early when the players level of play drops to me it seems only fair to back a player when his level of play dictates a raise.
To me the FO struggles on all the important things evaluating the talent they have, smartly moving money around to accommodate additions when needed and most importantly communicating and keeping players happy.
So yes if a players talent dictates he should be paid and he's too valuable to lose than pay him early. If said player maintains that level of play and starts to become unhappy evaluate and pay him again. The earlier the better because existing years give you more flexibility within the cap.
This team has very good talent and a chance just with Burrow and Chase but we have a bottom of the league front office. Nobody is expecting them to be the Eagles just dont be a hindrance to the team.
