Could you do me a favor and point out these free agents that have signed for more than the norm? I'm really interested to see any evidence that contradicts what i've said. 

you misread , they broke the norm by signing some FA to larger contracts than the past, so now it is not that they don't sign players to large contracts it is they waited to sign them, got it..
