Let's not put ourselves into another Whitworth situation where the team decides to move on because they think he's too old despite not showing any real decline and then that player ends up being a cornerstone piece for a deep postseason/super bowl run for someone else.
TJ Watt and Myles Garrett just got top-dollar deals and they are about the same age as TH.
Sometimes you take the risk because the player is that good still at 29-30 years old.

Maybe they have the sour taste from signing geno who also was having a stellar career then he played  1 yr on new co tract and got hurt was finished
