Stewart likely has pissed everyone off and I don't see him every getting the developmental help he needs. Pretty much burned up that opportunity by not being able to shut the hell up. I'm putting him in the John Ross/Jackson Carmen camp at this point if he ever plays here. Frankly, I think he's just a huge distraction right now and don't really care if he ever plays.
Training camp has started and we need to have the whole team on the field practicing. Give Trey a final offer that they think they can afford and if he can't bring himself to play for that, then let's get some guys in here that do want to be here. Time for screwing around is long over. Let's get moving.
Bengals will probably do nothing with DE unless we have a camp injury until after week 1. Simply, if they sign somone now and are on roster week #1, their contract is guaranteed. If Trey and or Stewart come in after week 1, we could then at some point cut the new DE signee and not eat cap dead money. At a mimimum it gives the team options to wait.
I would argue a vet pass rusher can be plug and play as well so no big deal if they miss camp and one game.
