Dude is ass. He showed he was ass year one. He showed some flash towards the end of his first season, but after that; not even a single sack.
Dude is ass-tastic,
As much as Murphy disappointed last year, he's still more proven than Shemar Stewart.
Everyone was super excited about Stewart scoring a 10.0 RAS, but Murphy was close with 9.71 coming out of college.
Murphy was far more productive in college though, and actually has some NFL production (albeit not much).
To me, it's Hendrickson and Ossai as the starters with Murphy first off the bench (starting if Hendrickson misses time) and Stewart is after that.
Heck, with how far behind Stewart is in his development, he might be last on the DE pecking order behind even Sample and Johnson if/when he finally actually joins the team.
We have to hope for Murphy to step up in this crucial 3rd year because they really have no one else besides Hendrickson (who is not with Bengals currently) and Ossai (who really only had a good ~6 final weeks of the season).
Not how I would have addressed the DL this season, but it is what it is at this point.
Murphy and Ossai are about the only hope without Hendrickson.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
