Hubbard while a fine player that I enjoyed rooting for and made some amazing plays in his time here. He was never at any time in his career the player that Hendrickson has been in his time here. To try and use them to compare for an age drop off indicator just isn't a good strategy. He may drop off and may get injured and won't have the years to recover of a younger player so there is risk but the reward is worth the risk in my opinion.
Hubbard was never the pass rusher that Hendrickson is, but Hendrickson was never as stout against the run as Hubbard was. And it's not only drop off, as any of us who are older know, the older you get, the longer it takes to heal when you're injured. I'm not saying do not sign Trey, I'm just saying don't give him a stupid 3rd year guarantee. At least make it incentive based.
