I would not want to see Ford at OT again unless in a pure emergency where OBJ, Mims, and Rivers/Cochran are all out.
That's fair. And probably more likely, given we usually keep 10. And Cochrane is probably ahead of Etienne. I need to fix that.
But I kinda view everyone behind the top 9 as practice squad level guys. With Ford and and especially Lee barely above it. So if I cut Cochran or Kirkland and they get signed to s 53 elsewhere (which I kinda doubt, but possible), I just plug in the other.
While I think guys like Hudson, Bryan, Cam Sample, & Cedric Johnson can actually play.
McLachlan showed nothing all last year, but ee kept him at TE on the 53 all year anyway. If I had to lose domeone, it would be him. But we apparently like him enough not to expose him.
If we actually had a well rounded TE who could block (Sample, Grandy) and catch (Gesicki, Hudson) we could carry less. But each role needs cover. So 4 at least. And for some reason, we fear exposing McLachlan.
I am sure some of my guesses will be wrong.
