Seriously man I’ve got a great source on this plus DMed a top local media guy to confirm. Had Hiller only wanted 500k it would have happened a long time ago. They didn’t get 500k more just sooner by 4 months. Think through this.
I heard from a source that talked to Hiller and read a quoted interview with Hiller. It read very similar to that tweet. The default language was a new precedent for the Bengals and they wanted a concession from them to accept the language. He alluded to a change in the timing of the payout of the signing bonus.
Im sure they wanted more than 500k. Did they want 100% at signing? I'm not sure but the Bengals did 50% at signing 50% in Dec for Mims. So the fact that they finally took 500k and said okay makes me wonder if they could've ended it sooner with a change in the payout 60/40 perhaps. But my point is the concession for the language not the language itself is what I had heard for over a month and the fact that's what they did makes it seem accurate. Like I said Im sure it was more than 500k because that would make the Bengals look terrible and ill give them the benefit of doubt.
