And, say the Bengals had offered Whit the same length deal LA did, and he knee went out again in the following camp. How many hindsight 20/20 guys on here would be flaming the front office for offering a 3 year deal to a player Whit's age? Offering the 1 year deal was the smart play. Whit just beat the odds and is still playing at Pro Bowl level. That does not happen very often.....
