I don't think we have the correct personnel for what the scheme dictates. They say they want more 3-4 looks, yet we don't have the bigger 3-4 type DEs. I realize that we are in nickel most of the time, but stopping the run has been a major issue. I still don't think we have found any answers at LB for what this scheme needs.
This defense really needs the following:
A legit edge rusher - Lawson could (and should be this guy) but he is invisible this season.
Another run-stuffing DT.
Linebackers that can make plays. We still don't have them. I think we have some guys that will be good in sub-packages (AGD, Wilson) but we still don't have that guys that goes sideline to sideline and crushes ball carriers and fills hole.
I think our secondary is "good enough" if we had some consistent pressure up front.
