Actually, I think that is kind of cool. He was a good guy and productive player who did a ton for the community. People rip the team for not honoring former players and doing the things the "great" franchises do and then they turn around and mock this? Nicht verstehe.

I wish you bad luck, again, from time to time so that you will be conscious of the role of chance in life and understand that your success is not completely deserved and that the failure of others is not completely deserved either.

I'm glad he wanted to do this and I'm glad the organization let him! He was an awesome kicker for the most part!

I'm glad he was able to retire as a Bengal as well. Kickers are not unlike long snappers in that they never get recognized unless they don't do their job. Shayne was a very solid kicker for us, perhaps even the best and deserves the recognition of retiring as a Bengal, imo.

I'll tell you one thing, there were about two dozen instances this season that I would have sacarficed a limb to have Graham back.
I don't have a problem with this, even though I'll never forgive him for his epic Choke-Fest he had against the Jets in the playoffs.

I miss Bengal Sis

I think this is a class act by both the kicker and organization.

This makes me wonder if any other player wanted to sign a 1-day deal and retire a Bengal.

I am totally down on the Bengals management right now but this was a class move.

I think it's awesome. Baby step in the right direction for a franchise that fails to honor past greats...and yes Shayne was great for us for most of his career. I don't fault him for missing a few kicks when Brad St Louis suddenly lost his mojo, and as a fan base, it'd be nice if we were capable of forgiving and forgetting. This has to be the most vindictive fan base in sports. We pretty much hate every former player.
