While free agency opens on the 9th, the two day negotiating window starts on the 7th. I can't see them outbidding anyone for Whit, so if a deal is going to get done, they've got just over a week to make it happen.
Of course, that's assuming Whit still wants to come back.
And I more and more wonder about that ? How big a factor was that in Jones and Sanu ? J.J. ? etc.
Would you want to come back ? I really can't blame them for leaving !

Don't forget to mention the absolutely sucky ass replacement the Bengals drafted for him to apprentice while they move him to guard, where he really doesn't want to play.

Oh, you want me to go dig for that?
It was published a couple of years ago.

Yes. That is what it means when I request a link.
I want to see the source. A lot of times people quote some rumor with no basis and claim it is fact. I may be wrong about this one. Maybe the Bengals siad they were moving Whit to guard. But I don't remember seeing anything other than baseless rumors.

Actually it is just that the person who makes a claim should be the one who knows best where it came from.

Here he talks about staying at left tackle, through discussions with the team.

....and here he is making it rather clear he doesn't want to play G in 2017.

So, my guess is, there have been talks of moving him to G, or he wouldn't feel the need to dispel that. There are several more articles on the subject.

If the Bengals would be looking at starting Ced at LT and Whitworth at Guard...they are crazy.

Well, I think we have already established that fact....lol. I think there were talks of doing this when they drafted Ogbuehi, and maybe they are just looking to the future....which may, or may not include Ced. The gist I get is that Whit doesn't mind filling in at G, but has no desire to play there in any sort of permanent fashion.
