AJ McCarron Trade in Works

He does well and sees a huge pay day in 2018 wich the Bengals wont pay so he goes elsewhere.  We get a bitchin comp pick in 2019 draft.  This is Mike Brown ball at it's finest.  I love this eye for the future.  So shrewd.  Ninja

Well, this is a brilliant move. Mike upgraded the company pick we would get when McCarron leaves for a higher comp pick when Richardson leaves.

They better keep AJ and find two or three other competent backups.  Hell, they may wanna consider talking to Tebow and running the spread option. Ninja

TEBOW! Yes!  I get to offset any sadness at a terrible oline with the glee that comes from seeing Tebow get pounded. Win win.  Of course the Legend of the Tim will probably kick in and he takes us to a superbowl victory, cures cancer, and adopts all the orphans of Hamilton county.   Ninja

LOL....Tebow is a good dude, not much of a QB at this level, and played for the hated (in my case) Gators, but other than that, it ain't his fault the media made such a big deal out of him.

I bet Mike Brown has the phone numbers for Colin Kaepernick and Michael Vick in his Rolodex.

....of the two, my bet would be on Vick. Old, out of date, and cheap cheap cheap cheap.....

The next 48 - 72 hours will be a telling story on how aggressive Cincy will be willing to move him. Hearing Cleveland will offer the Patriots and Cincy the same package for AJ and Jimmy..... first team that makes the move is what they will go with. I would imagine it would consist of a 2nd round and 3rd round, or something very close to it.

After seeing how much help we need with the Oline, it would only make since to have more draft picks available to help this situation.

Browns will try to trade Brock, but I think they will eventually release him.

Only makes since for Cincy to pull the trigger first!!!

Selfishly I've wanted the Bengals to hang on to AJ, but at the same time I'd like to see AJ get a starter opportunity. Hopefully it's with a team with an Oline that gives him time to show his talent, and not constantly duck and cover.....
Some say you can place your ear next to his, and hear the ocean ....

And you know that won't happen. We will sit back and watch a SB winning franchise make moves to better their team. If someone didn't know any better they would think it's NE That has gone 30 years without a playoff win and doing everything they can to improve.

I think the entire "rumor" is pure bullshit. This David Wyatt is not any sort of credible reporter, he's just some hack with Gang Green Nation. Gang Green Nation is the Jets version of Cincy Jungle, a SB Nation page. In other words, just another fake news creating, copy-pasta-twist the facta specialist..

Jets seem focused on Cutler. Last option would be Cleveland and this new tidbit may help the trade McCarron cause...

I don't believe any trade is happening anymore. We will probably spend the weekend focused on Peko.

Why anyone would opt for Cutler at this point I'll never know. At least AJ has upside.

Maybe teams aren't sold on Mac's upside. Cutler won't cost any draft picks and despite public perception, he's at least a competent starting NFL QB.

He had a 92.3 rating in his last healthy season. He's not going to lead a team to the promised land by himself, but the dude can play.

Agreed, I feel bad for Tebow for all of the hype and spotlight that he had to go through. Dude's a true guy of principle who actually appreciates the opportunities he's gotten and made for himself.
Today I'm TEAM SEWELL. Tomorrow TEAM PITTS. Maybe TEAM CHASE. I can't decide, and glad I don't have to.

Not sure if it's been posted anywhere yet, but I saw this at NFL trade rumors:

Quote:There are internet trade rumors circulating about a potential trade that would send Jets DE Sheldon Richardson to the Bengals for backup A.J. McCarron. Cimini says that the Jets are probably are interested in trading Sheldon Richardson and his $8 million salary and obviously need a quarterback right now.

Cimini believes this idea is something the Jets have looked at and would likely consider it if they didn’t have to give up draft picks. The issues, however, is that the Bengals may have to include a draft pick to make it work.

I would only trade ajm for Richardson if we could work out an extension beforehand. And their second or third round pick with us sending a later round pick back to them. They want rid of him, and it's a salary dump for them. Otherwise I would prefer draft picks for aj.

We are not a dt away from a big playoff run. I doubt we have a winning record this year. 1 year of Sheldon does nothing for us. We will most likely get a 3rd round comp when either of them leave anyway.

I agree.  There are actual murderers who get less hate than he does.
