Soloman Thomas # 9??

Barnett is undersized and won't hold up against the run.  He is strictly a pass rush specialist as a rookie.  He is only 259 pounds, and watching video of his Pro Day, he's carrying a lot of bad weight around his midsection.  I don't know if he can put on enough muscle mass to be a 3 down player.

With Thomas, we usually move Atkins to NT and slide a DE in at UT on obvious passing downs, anyways.  Thomas can slide down and we can bring in Clarke st RDE.

Spot on about both players. Solomon would be a 3 down End for us if we needed him to be immediately.

Barnett wouldn't, simple as that. But we are needing a pass rush specialist so i would be fine with Barnett.

We all have our opinions so this will never stop but I'd rather have Barnette who set the record at Tennessee in 3 years who has been productive from the start . I'm sure he could gain 10 pounds in no time n stay productive . I'm a west coast guy n follow the draft every year and didn't hear about Thomas until the bowl game n o promise you none of you knee who he was prior to it. Barnette has been in the spotlight since day one. He would easily be our RDE in pass rushing downs.
