I agree. Still, the top starting RB's in the NFL go fast. So do the few good TE's.  I may have to take whoever at TE. I can't see reaching down for a TE when I still need to grab top WR's and a top QB and back up RB's.  Once Kelce and Kittle are gone, the decline in talent is vast. I expect some Bengal Fan to have Pitts earmarked, he was talked about a lot on our Draft Board Site.  I may not get an elite TE, but if I can just get one that a team plans on as their GO TO TE, I can live with that.  Who knows, I may grab Pitts at some point, but I'm thinking too many Bengals Fans were wanting Bengals to draft Pitts, and they will be all over him, and he probably will be a good deep threat TE. He is more a WR than a TE, a TE that can run the Bomb like a Bob Trumpy or Eifert.  I see his team going deep to Pitts often, because he is so WR like.  Very Interesting who will grab him and where.

Going 2 means I don't pick again until almost Round 3.  I'm going to have to bang out 2 Big Names before I have another long wait. I would think a WR will be a must....I LOVE IT....Who is gone, who to take....I just hope I don't have computer problems, and I don't blow any rounds due to missing the clock with a pick. The Mocks helped me learn the Yahoo Boards a little.  I think it only gives you one minute, so I better have 2 picks in mind when I am UP NEXT. Often someone takes my pick right before me, so a back-up pick needed since 1 minute goes Fast. There is no time to hunt all over the boards. that minute goes fast.

There's a good chance we won't be having a TE. We'll have a W/T. So you can start a 3rd WR or a TE

Thanks.  Well, Kelce puts up more fantasy points than most WR's.  I think I'll just do a normal draft and take a TE at some point.  My guess is, once the WR pool starts going down, those fantasy scoring TE's are going to fill out rosters nicely.  As you say, you can slide a TE into W/T if needed.  Again, someone like Pitts will make a good W/T.  He will be taken before I can get him.  I'll take a TE, I just don't know who or where.  I think some will look like solid picks as the WR pool goes down.  Some QB's love to feed their TE.  Some TE's get a lot of balls their way in a game. I don't need bench warmer TE's though. Someone a QB loves is very tempting as draft rolls along.  OH Yes, TE's score a great deal of TD's in the Red Zone, and TDs are fast Fantasy Points. A TE that a QB loves on 3rd down or in Red Zone, and there are a handful. I would like one TD scoring QB favorite TE for Fantasy Points. There are some QBs that love to feed a certain TE.

So W/T has me looking W, but also T as draft rolls along. Some T's are better than W's on Fantasy Points. Once that W pool goes down, some T's are going to look mighty good to draft.

I think I might join another Free Yahoo League just to do a real Draft before ours. Get that one under my belt so I know how Yahoo Draft works. Sounds like a plan. Get my mistakes out in that one.

Suggestion : Maybe try a Mock Draft by yourselves on Yahoo day of Draft. I went on Yahoo and had to register back in, and then 1st Mock Draft locked up. I had to go out and back in while Yahoo picked my 4 and 5 picks. I did another Mock Draft after, and it went fine. So maybe try to do a Mock Draft by yourselves a few hours before our Draft to make sure your computer stuff is linked up to Yahoo. Try to make sure no bugs in the system before our real draft.....I'm going to, after tonight's first mock draft lock up.

In doing some Yahoo Mocks last night. Since we have no TE, I took TE last in the Yahoo Mock forcing at least one TE pick. At dead last, the TE was pretty bad. I did get a feel for WR's and RBs and QBs.  Also Defense and Kicker.  Mostly WR and who I like, not just who Yahoo likes.  Now the real problem is getting a good Back-Up Running Back and getting some top WRs.  Those who take just Running Back first rounds will not get a top WR.  Those who get 3 or 4 good WR's will not get a solid back-up RB probably.  Plus you need a QB.

Important is the switch that goes from All Players to look at just QBs, or just WRs, or just RBs....because as you draft, you know what you have not drafted yet and need.  The Yahoo thing may be showing the Top Picks in a Round as positions you have filled.  Using that switch to go from ALL PLAYERS to QB, WR, RB, TE, Defense, Kicker and focus on a Needs Pick makes it so much easier.

Now I think our draft has more rounds than a normal Yahoo Mock Draft. I could be wrong.

I am going to have to read up on running backs.  Who are the 32 teams going to give a chance to.  There should be 32 starting running backs, but Who ?  There has to be somebody who is going to get great playing time that is flying under the radar.  I need to find out the planned Starter for all 32 teams.  That should give me a name for a good back-up RB Pick that I can grab after setting up some passing attack.  But that is what I do not know, who are the 32 starting RBs in the NFL.  I better be finding out before our draft.  If my #1 RB gets injured, I will indeed need a back-up.  Maybe 3 deep at RB to be safe.  I need to make a list of the 32 RB's that go in as Starters.  That list would come in very handy.  I'm sure Benson flew under the radar when Bengals decided to try him as the Starter. There has to be teams that have RB's flying under the radar. There has to be more than 10 or 12 top RB's, because there are 32 teams. MAYBE who starts in Preseason Game 2 for all teams will tell. I'm thinking Preseason Game 2 is now the old Preseason Game 3, and Preseason Game 3 may be not playing starters like the old preseason game 4. Who these teams start at RB THIS WEEK may tell the story on how to draft. There will indeed be 32 Starting RB's this week, and That is The List of Names that I need going into our draft. If a team gives a RB a chance to start, he could just be a surprise like Paul Robinson or Leroy Kelly when given a chance, or Icky Woods. Some of these 32 will make a name for themselves that nobody is expecting.

That does it. I know my next step. I must know glue myself to running backs on all teams this preseason week 2. WR's to me is no problem, but these RB's, I do not have a good list of them. That will be my Focus this preseason week 2. The starting RB's on all 32 teams. That is where I am lacking on draft info.

OK, I found an internet list of NFL Team Starting RBs in 2021. I will share it. Don't go much on the order, Yahoo lists them in different order.

1, Henry-Titans
2. McCaffery-Panthers
3. Kamara-Saints
4. Cook-Vikings
5. Chubb- Browns
6. Elliott-Cowboys
7. Barkley-Giants
8. A.Jones-Packers
9. Mixon-Bengals
10. Jacobs-Raiders
11. J.Taylor- Colts
12. Dobbins-Ravens
13. Montgomery-Bears
14. Akers- Rams
15.Ekeler-Chargers
16. Harris-Steelers
17. Edwards-Helaire- Chiefs
18. J.Robinson-Jaguars
19-Carson-Seahawks
20. Gibson-Washington
21. Fournette-Buccaneers
22. Swift-Lions
23. M.Davis-Falcons
24. Gordon-Broncos
25. Mostert- 49ers
26. Edmonds-Cardinals
27. Sanders-Eagles
28. Coleman-Jets
29. Harris-Patriots
30. Ingram-Texans
31. Singletary-Bills
32 Gaskin-Dolphins

RBs they say could win top spot

33. Javonte Williams-Broncos
34. Travis Etienne-Jaguars
35. R.Jones-Buccaneers
36. Lindsay-Texans
37. Carter-Jets
38. Conner-Cardinals
39. Michael- Patriots
40. Moss-Bills

and if Chubb would get injured
41. Hunt-Browns

Again, this list is NOT how they will get picked, nor is it how YAHOO, ESPN or CBS rank them in Fantasy Draft Lists

But it is an idea who teams are looking to as their RB's in 2021. Now I'm sure this list misses some names that could end up get many carries or catches or goal line touchdown specialists. I said I needed to find a list to help me add depth in draft. I figured why not share this internet list of who the 32 NFL teams are considering as their Starting RB's.

Sermon will beat out Mostert; maybe not to start the season but very soon afterward

There's a very good chance neither Fournette or RoJo will be the feature back in TB

Cam Akers is out for the year

Right, AKERS is out for the year.   So that means someone else will be starting for Rams.   I think they may even add one of the good free agents still unsigned, or add somebody.  I'm not sure why Gurley or Bell are free agents. The Rams will have to come up with somebody with Akers out.

Also a few on the list are in question of being starters.  The Jets for example.  Also Denver. Also Texans. Also Jaguars.

For the most part, whoever put the list on internet has most teams right.  They do list Steelers Harris too low, he will go fast in the draft, because Steelers like to run the ball.

It is not an exact list. Most will be starters, but some teams are very much in question. Akers is Out.

From the list I did make changes to 2 teams I have already drafted.  I dropped a not so good back-up RB and added Phillip Lindsay moving up with Texans.

The add on at end of list are possible starters. Etiewne drafted by Jaguars and Williams drafted by Broncos for a reason.  It could be Carter over Coleman with Jets.  The more you get into the last part of the list, the bottom feeders could be replaced.

For the most part, it's not a bad list that was on internet.  Still, preseason will show who teams are really starting. Interesting to see who Rams start.  The first 17 teams are pretty set.  Whoever does start for teams like Bucs, Bills, Patriots, Texans are on good teams that give them a good opportunity.  My concern for Mixon is still our O Line.  So a running back put behind a Super Bowl type O Line could be a beast. If Fournette does play like his early years, he is on a good team to do it.  Either Singletary or Moss, Bills would be a good team to start for.  The O Line helps make the RB.  If Mixon had a good O line, he would be awesome. Some no name is going to start behind a top O Line and suddenly look great.  Whoever replaces Akers with Rams is in a chance to do well.

One good thing. The Draft List on Fantasy Site are more up to date, and say who is injured such as Akers.  For the most part, the Fantasy List is The Best.  Still, I would rather have somebody who is starting somewhere than draft a guy stuck backing up Chubb or somebody. I don't want my back-ups to actually be back-ups. I want Starters Only on my team, even on my bench.

So Running Back gets tricky. After the Top ones get drafted, Who Is Left in Mid to Late Rounds ?  Finding the diamond in the rough is the trick. Me, I want a Starter over a good Bench Warmer. The Top Running Backs are easy and will go fast.  Finding out who starts for the 12 other teams would be huge in mid to late rounds.

Preseason should tell the story more on about half the teams in NFL.  Somebody has to start for them and some of these teams have good O Lines such as Bucs and Bills. Whoever fills Akers spot at Rams is on a good offense.

WR is pretty easy, but finding good mid to late round RB help is hard in Fantasy Drafts.  I don't see why settling for NFL teams back-ups when you could have one of the 32 starters on your bench, But WHO are all the 32 Starters.  Preseason will probably answer that.

Often, after first 2 weeks of regular season, players come out big that Nobody drafted, but everybody jumps on the waiver list hoping some of these New Stars go to them. It's what makes The Draft FUN and then the Free Agent Pool after start of season FUN. Players bust out big that nobody drafted. When you have the Super Bowl winner trying to decide on a RB, we know there are at least a dozen teams for a RB to break out and put up numbers nobody was expecting.

Mid to late round RB's and early season Free Agent RB stars. However it has been my experience, that after first weeks of the season, it is very hard to find good Free Agent RB's if you have many injuries at RB. That RB pool dries up after first few weeks of season, and not much help is out there to grab. I have been an injured RB team, and had to play out season looking for free agent pool help, and it just wasn't out there. Very hard to find a good RB after first couple weeks of regular season. It's the same in Fantasy NBA, you can always find Guards, but those good Forwards are taken.

I'm going to add one separate thought past my long rambling on RB's

I am very interested who starts and plays for the LA Rams with Akers out for season in this weeks preseason game. Possibly someone nobody would ever consider, but is getting a golden opportunity in a good O Line and a good offense. If running lanes are there, he only has to be average to put up Fantasy Points. A possible mid to late round pick flying under the radar. This weeks preseason games may unveil a few other teams starters. Draft bag Christmas presents left under the tree by coaches now forced to show their starters in warm up to season.
