I never like James anyway. He was a cheap and dirty player.  Ninja

Damn, trolled by Brady with a first ballot HOFer, that will for sure go in as a Steeler.  Now, that's pretty low..   Mellow

But man, that Brady sure does know how to troll well.   Hilarious

I figure it's all part of a long con where Harrison will funnel intel back to Tomlin (which he will probably ignore/not how to use) or he takes out Brady in a practice "accidentally".   Smirk

No, all seriousness aside I felt if they were going to use him they would have by now.  They need a roster spot and you cut the guy not playing.  He has barely seen double digit snaps this season.

And while I hate to see a player go that meant so much when he was a starter, and was a good back up to our emerging new players, this happens all the time in sports.

In another thread about Ben retiring I made comment that I am old enough to have seen my favorite players retire/get cut since the 70's.

It's never a good time, but it is all about time.

That's not a thing.

From the FAQ on the Pro Football Hall of Fame website:

Quote:Is a New Hall of Fame Member Enshrined as a Member of a Team?

Obviously, teams take great pride in the accomplishments of individuals who have been a part of their organization.  Often individual teams and even the Hall of Fame will list enshrinees according to the team or teams on which they spent a significant period of time.  An enshrinee, however, is not asked to “declare,” nor does the Hall of Fame “choose” a team under which a new member is enshrined.  When elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an individual is recognized for accomplishments as a player, coach, or contributor.

Steelers players are trashing the F*** out of him.

This dude is a Steeler LEGEND and they are treating him like garbage.

What a weird situation... but I'm not too surprised by the crass.

Not really...He's the one that has wanted out since early in the season. Steelers thought they would play him more, but rookie T.J. Watt developed very quickly, outplayed him and took over his position.  Apparently, Harrison had been missing meetings, refusing to mentor the younger guys and generally not being much a team player.  I think what we're seeing now is released frustration from the team now that he's gone.

That said, releasing him at this point and letting NE pick him up may well come back to haunt the Steelers...even if he doesn't actually play one snap against them.

From what I read this morning, when it was evident he wasn't going to play the 25% of the snaps Tomlin had assured him he would be getting, he approached them about a release.  It was said that he went to them and understood the direction the team wanted to go in by playing the young guys....no problem, just release me to pursue other options.  They refused and kept telling him they would be playing him more.  Then it got to where Tomlin told him something along the lines of "....release you when we could have injuries? Hell no."  He was also told they had a big role for him against NE, and he never took the field.  Of course he got a little miffed over that.  Who could blame him.  From all I read about his time in Cincy, he absolutely tried to help mentor and push players in the LB room.
