I believe this was Eifert's last year on contract.
From what I've seen, Kroft seems to fit the bill just fine.
Hopefully Boyd will not be an injury bug as well.
Time to let one of the 3 Tyler's go!!

Both Boyd and Kroft played well. Shoot so did Uzama (sp?). But I'd be happy to have them all healthy. I think Boyd's been underestimated. Best WR on the field today.

I think Kroft has played very well. Would love to give him the spot next year.

They've been fairly lucky with guys named Tyler so far except for the Eifert one with his laundry list of injuries .
Heck, why not just hire a Tyler scout to scout every college player named Tyler? It's not AS IF they've exactly blown their entire budget on scouts as is..

As good as Eifert is, they need to let him go. Has he ever played a full season? Not worth the roster spot

I really get fans holding onto how much talent that Eifert has. This is a major contact sport though and how many back surgeries has he actually had now? That’s a real question btw, has he had 2 or 3? I’m guessing that any decent doctor would advise him against getting run over by 200-300 pound men.

True, and hopefully he has his shit together off the field. I am not sure what came of his whole Mercedes "drivin by his friend" but he needs to wise up. This is one instance where not playing a guy made sense, but I am glad to see he didn't become another wasted talent and he fought back.
He should be our slot(and rotate in Erickson from time to time), and our X should be Core and Ross. Malone can rotate with AJ, who I would trade in a heartbeat for the right offer. It isn't just a bad game or two. His season was a huge disappointment. I think it is a trend at this point.

Eifert could have been the greatest ever in not for injuries.
Time to let him go unless he is basically almost free.

You do realize the Ravens have been burnt by AJ for years and were dead set on not letting him do it again. For this reason others like Boyd and Kroft were able to get favorable match-ups in coverage.
AJ is fine and still light years better than 90% of the receivers in the league. Everybody goes through a spout where things don't go their way. With that said, he and Dalton need to work on keeping the ball in bounds on those sideline routes. Don't know many how many of these were missed this year. They both need to work on this. Dalton with this throws and AJ with his routes. Heck, maybe AJ should walk down an the line a couple more yards pre-snap. Anything, just fix it. A lot of yards were missed over the year.

Here is to Boyd becoming the new Raven killer. It was clear AJ took a step back this year, let's see if Boyd can take a step up.

This is interesting. Was he hypnotized? Did they subliminally get him to drop all those passes? It had nothing to do with coverage, it had everything to do with him having ANOTHER bad game. You guys that kill Dalton for one clunker every 10 games forget that the Bengals pay Green essentially 1 million less per year than Dalton.
Dalton, it the heavy winds at Baltimore needs to work at keeping it in bounds, huh? Did you see what the so-called strong armed Flaccid was doing out there?
If AJ caught half the balls that hit him in both hands, this game was a blowout.
Light years better than 90% of the receivers in the league....maybe a few years ago.

I agree with you mostly.
Though Boyd doesn't play on a offense that definitely needs him.
Yet that idiot Pacman acts like a complete POS and it's business as usual.
That... I don't understand at all!

You touched on another Marv issue...discipline. And he is very inconsistent in how and to whom it is delivered.

Eifert is a lot like Jordan Reed on the Redskins, both type 5 when healthy, neither ever seem to be healthy two games in a row, and the pattern is consistent; let him go!

Ehhhhh....
...for a team absolutely desperate for a #2 target to step up in the passing game, none of them were very impressive.
Kroft: 42 catches/404 yards (9.6 AVG)/7 TD
Boyd: 22 catches/225 yards (10.2 AVG)/2 TD (Before the last play of the season, he was averaging 8.4 yards per catch.)
Uzomah: 10 catches/92 yards (9.2 AVG)/ 1 TD
So sure, if you're looking to run the dinkiest and dunkiest of pathetic offenses, those three are solid.
Otherwise you need actual legitimate receiving threats. Kroft is a good #2 TE at best, Boyd is a #4/#5 WR, Uzomah is a #3 TE. None of them would be starters on a good passing offense.
Kroft started all 16 games and failed to reach 30 yards in 10 of them. Heck, he failed to reach 15 yards in 8 of them.

They were in the same draft class. Interestingly enough, both their best seasons came in '15, too.
Eifert: 127 catches/1,537 yards (12.1 AVG)/20 TD
Reed: 275 catches/2,813 yards (10.2 AVG)/22 TD
Eifert's best season: 52/615 (11.8)/13 (71.1% of the offensive snaps)
Reed's best season: 87/952 (10.9)/11 (65.7% of the offensive snaps)

It was pretty obvious. Him under performing and still being one of the best WRs speaks volumes. But it was clear in a few different games that he wasn't leaving it all on the field. I can't blame him either. With the way this org is run, it's hard not to let it get to you. I hope he realizes what he has to say carries a lot of weight with the fans and he can help the team somehow with that leverage.

I absolutely agree with this. I said something similar in another thread, and people were acting like I was plotting an assassination. Of course, it was one of the myriad of topics flaming the QB, so there was little time for objectivity. I noted that overall it had been a down year by AJ Green standards. A good year....but something has seemed off. I also do not blame him one bit. The coaching staff and FO are 100% at fault for what happened this season.

To be fair, everyone on both teams was having trouble catching that frozen brick..... or not fumbling it...

No to letting him go, he is too good for this struggling offense to let go. Now, that said, his contract needs to be performance based, ie, staying on the field, but just letting him go is nonsense.
