We're gonna need a "new" Marvin and then some in the eyes of Las Vegas for 2019. According to them, we are dead last in the hunt, tied with Cleveland.
http://www.sportsline.com/insiders/50000314/fresh-super-bowl-53-odds-reveal-a-few-surprises/?ttag=splnnlheadline301112018
From the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook:
1) Patriots 5/1
2) Steelers 8/1
3) Eagles 10/1
4) Vikings 10/1
5) Packers 10/1
6) Saints 16/1
7) Falcons 16/1
8) Cowboys 18/1
9) Rams 18/1
10) Seahawks 18/1
11) 49ers 20/1
12) Jaguars 20/1
13) Texans 20/1
14) Panthers 20/1
15) Chargers 30/1
16) Chiefs 30/1
17) Raiders 30/1
18) Lions 40/1
19) Buccaneers 40/1
20) Ravens 40/1
21) Titans 40/1
22) Colts 40/1
23) Cardinals 40/1
24) Broncos 40/1
25) Giants 60/1
26) Redskins 60/1
27) Dolphins 60/1
28) Bears 100/1
29) Jets 100/1
30) Bills 100/1
31) Browns 100/1
32) Bengals 100/1
The article says Vegas has already given up on the state of Ohio. Looks like we really have to
make those big changes in free agency, and perhaps a splash or two in the draft. More importantly,
these Bengals need to start strong, and stay strong; and change people's minds ON THE FIELD!!

While I don't see we're quite as hopeless as Vegas believes, we certainly deserve to be on the lower portion of that list.
We've given little reason to believe otherwise thus far. This is straight up a result of keeping Lewis. (and just the fact that Mike Brown still runs the team)

I don’t gamble but this is interesting. If I did, I’d put 100 down just because if the unthinkable happens, I’m up 10,000. The bengals are bad, but they aren’t that bad.

The odds are extremely long for any team to win it all. It is a sucker bet right now as way to many variables at play with no draft and no free agency yet. As for Bengals being by the Browns, that alone shows how poor these odds are as Bengals have owned the Browns and Browns have won game in like 2 years so they should be 10,000 to 1 and not 100 to 1.
But, yes Bengals deserve to be in bottom tier, just not close to Browns in actual odds.
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

Kinda rude to the Bills. I have no problem with the Bengals being 100/1, but then the Browns should be 1000/1.

Next year will either be awesome or a disaster. Basically, we added two more HC quality guys to the roster, so either they will really help Merv, or it will be a poor dynamic. Personally, I think it will help...

I wonder if they keep it at 100/1 for the browns, because if it i was 10,000 to 1, and the browns made the playoffs, you could hedge your bet by betting against them and make some serious money, just from the browns making the playoffs. well, it would be a big IF i know, but you never know.

1/100 odds to win the Super Bowl...
If it was 1/100 to win a playoff game I would have thought that was pretty fair given our history.
Not to be mean about it, I definitely always hope they exceed expectations.

Interesting that the Steelers and Pats are still so high for 2019.
If I gambled, I'd throw a lot of money at 49ers (20-1) and Raiders (30-1). Jimmy G is the future star of this league, and the Raiders are going to do everything in their power to make a good impression on Vegas. Both teams have good young QB's and coaches.
As for the Bengals, these are championship odds and we have a Head Coach who can't win a playoff game in 15 years. 100/1 makes sense.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.

This. If this were odds on a winning season, yeah, they'd be way off. It's actually not unlikely that Merv could get us to 9 or more wins. But, to win a championship, we're going to need to win a playoff game. Merv has yet to do so with like 3 different teams (yes, all Cincy, but with like 3 different groups of players). I see no problem with saying we're as likely to win a Super Bowl as Cleveland.

Not sure I would bet too big on Bengals winning SB either.
But at those odds what could $20 or whatever you can afford to lose hurt ?
Thinking the surer bet would be what their over/under on season will be.
Almost certainly it will be low and good chance they will surpass if coaching changes wake them up and they buy in.
Think with a few moves on bolstering OL should make Bengals at least a bubble team with 8,9,or 10 wins.
OL stays the same and this does not come to fruition though.

Exactly. If this were odds on a winning season, they'd be way off. I think we have a decent chance at making the playoffs.
Winning a game though? Let alone a run to the SB? Lol no.

49ers 20-1? Someone is really buying the Garrapolo hype.

Not to mention a GM who is 0-26 seasons to even win a playoff game !

These are all sucker bets period..In two years any team can flip positions through injuries and any number of other things.
A 5-1 bet on the pats doesn't pay out much at least not like the Bengals at 100-1 .. But Vegas oddsmakers are banking on a bunch of suckers betting..
I'll bet a dollar that I won't bet a dollar this next year..odds are pretty good..
