Are The Steelers Setting Themselves Up For Failure?
#1
The Steelers lost 30 to 9 against the Jags at home in the regular season, so you'd think that there'd at least be some concern, but Mike Mitchell, the intelligent young fella that he is, is already saying that the Steelers will play the Patriots again and that they're going to win:

Quote:“We’re going to play [the Patriots] again,” Mitchell said. “We can play them in hell, we can play them in Haiti, we can play them in New England. … We’re gonna win.”

He said that two days ago. You might want to focus on this week instead of looking ahead and guaranteeing a win over the greatest QB of all-time that leads arguably the greatest dynasty of all-time.

On top of that, Le'Veon Bell came out this week and threatened to sit out or retire if he' s franchised tagged for the second straight year, which, after finally going a season without being injured, it technically makes sense, but the Steelers also know that that means he's just in-line to be injured again next season.

Antonio Brown's also returning from three weeks off because of injury, so he might not be fresh.

Also, after Ben threw five interceptions against the Jags in the regular season was when he mentioned that maybe he doesn't have it anymore and retirement, which, joking or not, has to be in the back of the players' minds.

With the genius Mike Mitchell looking ahead, Bell threatening to retire or sit out, Brown being rusty, and Ben getting raped by the Jags in the regular season as bad as he rapes college chicks in bars, are the Steelers setting themselves up for failure?

Does this game get out of hand again and the Jags blow them out?

Do the Jags win but it's a close game?

Do the Steelers squeak out a victory?

Do the Steelers win big?

Jags wont win big. They dont have the offense to do that, or at least I don't think. Now if the D gets a few pick 6's? Well, we may be in for a real treat. I wanna see Bell get hit so hard his legs fly off. I want Ben hit so hard, his right arm becomes MIA. As for JuJu? Create your own ending for that SOB! I know mine is too horrible to type and would offend some.

I saw a statistic that said the Jags are 7-0 when Bortles throws under 30 times, and the Jags had the most rushing yards in the NFL this season, so just don't rely on Bortles, and they win the game!

The Steelers haven't played a defense like this since they played them last time, and they lost, so just load the box, force Ben to throw, and then feast on the turnovers!

Well their coach was looking past whoever they played 1st in the playoffs 4 weeks ago so you can’t blame Mike “Go Colonels” Mitchell.

After Marvin Lewis is extended, Bengal Nation goes into a funk and Brad disappears.

A n00b who runs a smack site on the dark net named "Dark net acorn" appears and posts the weakest smack on the forum directed at Steelers fans.

After get completely embarrassed, he sends beastiality porn to said Steelers fans earning a ban.

Brad returns.

Coincidence?

There’s a reason the this beautiful country has to endure the plague of Steelers fans from coast to coast and it ain’t because the Steelers accept failure.

It’s because they need a glimmer of hope in their lives between jail stints and the Steelers provide it.

Funny. This is about Jags and Steelers, and yet Steelers fans drag the Bengals into the conversation. Closet fans....

You keep asking that same question in several threads. Are you trolling for teenagers for Pig Ben, or just proud you finally learned to use your numbers and want everyone to see???

It is a legit question. Perhaps you should finally answer him.

The wisdom (or lack thereof) of his comments won't be evident until the games are played.  There is no clear pattern on this type of thing.  Sometimes the team with the bragging player wins and sometimes it loses.  And the reason for that unpredictability is that there are a thousand other factors in play.  Heck, what the teams have for breakfast tomorrow could potentially have a bigger impact than this.

Meh,it is what it is.  What happened the last time you got all excited about the prospect of Bell's potential departure affecting the Steelers' play, Brad?  I believe it was right before the first time they played the Bengals this year.  Do you remember the result? And by the way, wasn’t Martavis Bryant’s trade demand thrown in the mix then too?

(01-12-2018, 08:38 PM)BFritz21 Wrote: Antonio Brown's also returning from three weeks off because of injury, so he might not be fresh.

He'll be fine.  If nothing else, his presence will open things up for Bryant and Smith-Schuster.

It hasn't even been in the back of mine.  If it didn't affect the team much the first time you brought it up months ago, why would it now? He's done more than enough since then to prove that game was a fluke.  You're reaching even further than usual here.

None of this matters nearly as much as you think it does.  The team that prepares and executes better tomorrow will win. And the stuff you've listed here is WAAAAAAY down on the list of things that will affect that.

That moment when bungle fans think they're so smart.

How would "you" be used incorrectly there wiz kid?

"Ewe" ? Those are what bengal fans sleep with.

It's "how old are you".
Not your or you're .

How old are you btw?

When did I disappear?

If anything, I'd discuss Marvin being extended as a good thing because, whether he's a good on-field coach or not, he demanded improvements, like more control and being active in free agency, as well as an overhaul in the coaching staff.

The free agency thing is still yet to be seen, but the new coaching staff (which is still most likely changing) is going to make a big difference for us.

I hadn't made a thread about it yet because I was still waiting for all of the changes, but thanks for bringing it up  ThumbsUp
