I feel big changes on the way.
Getting Glenn could easily turn out as one of the best moves/trades in Bengals history.

I am stunned they did this.

If they now sign a really good center- not Bodine- I will take back my recent posts expressing complete disillusionment.

However this works out, getting Glenn is a great effort and supports Fred's original post.

- The Bills weren't sold on Taylor being their QB. He had 1 year left on his deal, so they traded him to the Browns. The Bills need a franchise QB. Which brings us to...

- This QB draft class has 4 QBs who are basically a coin flip between them. The Browns will take one, using Taylor as a stop gap. The Giants will take one. And the Jets may take one (if they can't sign Kousins - which they probably will). After that, the Cardinals need a new QB. The Cardinals draft at #15, ahead of the Bills as #21 & #22. Which brings us to....

- The Bills need to jump in front of the Cardinals to reboot their QB position. The Cardinals don't have the ammo to jump up themselves. Which brings us to....

- The Bengals have a pick where one of the above mentioned 4 QBs (or 5, if they like Jackson) will be available. The Bengals don't need a QB, they need O-linemen. Left Tackle, specifically. Which brings us to...

- NO Left Tackle in this draft was going to to grade out to be worth anywhere near the 12th pick. They just aren't as good as a 29 year old Cordy Glenn, who's a top 10 LT when healthy. Which brings us to....

- The Bengals had an option on Jones they weren't going to use, which frees up cap space to sign or trade for one and take on starting LT money while retaining Atkins and Dunlap. A must if they weren't going to be able to draft one. Which brings us to...

- The Bengals seeing that they can acquire a starting LT AND move back in the draft rather than reach and take a player who grades out more favorably there. Like, say, Hernandez the Guard, for example. Or a Safety, LB, etc. who would have been a reach and a waste at 12. Which (FINALLY) brings us to....

The eye of the perfect storm for the Bengals to acquire Glenn. I look at it like this: With the 12th pick in the 2018 draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select: 29 year old Cordy Glenn AND a player to be named at the 21st pick.

Great post PDub, great move in every aspect really. Getting Glenn and Will Hernandez sure would be awesome.

Then go Center and O-line is instantly looking ten times better.

This just really opened up the Draft which i have been calling for for years. This is the first time we did exactly what i wanted us to.

Ok, so, here's what I'm picturing....

Guard Hernandez, a CB, or one of the LB or Safety prospects in the 1st. One of those higher graded players will fall. to #21

+

Orlando Brown Jr. in the 2nd (he could absolutely be there). Brown translates to Left or Right Tackle according to his NFL.com draft profile. He's so Andre Smith it isn't funny. If he falls it screams Bengals!

I would be perfectly fine with this. Here's why...

The Bengals have youth and invested draft picks in skill positions already.

WR: Ross, Malone, Core, Boyd. All with 3 years or less experience.
DT: Billings, Glasgow, . Both young. I could see adding a DT, but they just signed one in Baker.
CB: WJ3, DreKirk, Denard, Shaw. All young.
LB: They LOVE Evans, Vigil is also well liked, and Burfict. They need some help here for sure, but I think the Bengals like their LBs. A first rounder could be huge, however. All young or in their prime. + Lawson as a specialist/hybrid
DE: Willis should be starting with Dunlap on the other side. They definitely need rotational DE help. Baker, strangely, is listed at DE on the Bengals roster and I have seen him listed as such in several articles despite him being a DT on previous teams.

I just don't see what else they can do that makes sense. They have youth all over. And, where they aren't young, they are very very good with vets already there. I canot fathom big investments in skill positions like RB, WR, CB (although, CB wouldn't make me upset)

Offensive line, TE, Safety, and LB is where I see the Bengals going heavy in this draft. It's talented at those spots, so it's a perfect match!

Very nicely summarized man......although it looks as though Cousins will be a Viking.

How bout one of those centers?  I wouldn't mind that either.

As Wyche said i want one of the top 3 Centers with our 2nd rounder. I think Orlando Brown could fall to the 3rd and we could
snatch him up. That combine was so bad he will fall no question but he didn't give up a sack last year and this is what really
matters, his play on the field, not his combine.

We don't have to go with Hernandez at 21 either but it all starts in the trenches. A line of...

Cordy Glenn - Clint Boling - Ragnow/Price/Daniels - Will Hernandez - Orlando Brown

Would be pretty damn awesome. It is what the Vikings did last year and look where it got them.

Still want a SAM Backer somewhere though. Vander Esche, Rashaan Evans should be in our thoughts.

Meaning the Jets will be drafting a QB. Well, that's the Bills problem now, eh?  Wink

I like a thoroughbred center for sure! I also think a mauling Right Tackle is a must have. Fisher can play G as can Westerman and Redmond.

I'm not sure Brown Jr. falls out of the 2nd. Hell, he could still go in the first for all I know.

In either order, I think Brown Jr. and, say, Daniels would be HUGE @ 21 & 46.

Daniels is smaller compared to Price and not as strong, but seems technically and athletically a better player. I like Daniels as well. He can add size, but his quickness and speed are tough to find.

Still have some hope for Fisher at RT but i agree we should grab one as insurance or bring back Andre.

I think Orlando falls to the mid rounds after that Combine, it was epicly bad. Teams will question his effort understandably unless
he has a much better Pro-day. Daniels is a talent and while i would like my Center bigger he would definately be an upgrade over
Bodine, that is for sure. Isiaah Wynn is also a thought here as he can play every position on the Line, same with Mason Cole in
the middle rounds.

Way to be brother, yeah, this was a big change from what we normally do. Trading for a player of Cordy Glenn's caliber...

Is an awesome move.

Can we wait until he's on the field. We have a lot of good players who don't perform or don't even see the field! Lol. I will congratulate Marvin Lewis when we win our 1st playoff game! Sad

Now hearing the Jets are looking at Teddy Bridgewater.....of course they could still draft one too.  Correct, the Bills problem.

Looks like Cousins to MN, Bradford to AZ, Keenum to DEN, and Bridgewater to NYJ.
