For those saying Preston Brown is a 2-down LB, he played 99% of the defensive snaps for Buffalo last year (most on the team).
He may not be ideal in coverage, but he can be a 3-down LB.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

He was a 70.4 in coverage last year which means he is average in coverage. He isn’t a superstar in coverage but he won’t be a liability either which hasn’t been true in recent years.

Brown won't make alot of INTs or PDs but he will be there to make the tackle.

I think the two defensive signings are really going to help us to contain Bell and other run heavy teams.
I'm very high on these signings and can't wait to see what they follow up with in the draft.

Especially one who lead the leaghue in tackles last year?
Hopefully line him up next to Burfict so they can knock the living shit out of some Steelers.

Tez did not look good at the Mike (though he probably would have adjusted). With Baker, Brown and Burfict we have the some run stopping capability we did not have last year.
Now we can focus on finishing off the O-line and D-line. This has been the formula that has been successful for the Eagles, Jaguars and Rams. If we were to go Price and Shephard 1 and 2 we'd be a long way to having a much more powerful team.
Nice post man, run the ball and stop the run. Glenn, Baker and Brown are huge pickups in this aspect.
Right where he needed to address this Offseason. Like you said Price or one of the other two Centers at 21.

Exactly. And as much as people want to focus on INTs and PDs, the Bengals need a guy like Brown that can consistently tackle and help stop the run.
I can understand using Brown as a 2-down LB to get Vigil or Evans more snaps for what they are better at (coverage), but I don't think Brown HAS to be restricted to a 2-down LB role.

So we just...sign the NFL leader in tackles? Just like that?
...What team is this and where did the Bengals go?

Not fast, but quick....and had some good PFF coverage grades
Definitely a versatile LB

Well, on the bright side, this signing makes us better able to get along without him.
And you can be sure we'll play the Steelers at least once in those first four games.

We tried apparently. Oakland backed out when they heard about the possible suspension...

Wow. Cialis doesnt get me this pumped! WTF is our FO doing? This is so uncharacteristic. Almost like a "Win Now!" attitude has begun. Mike Browns test results must have came back unfavorable.

I read a report (well, I guess you could call it a "speculative" report) that Marv only came back because Mike gave him complete control of the franchise. Staff, players, funds and all.
I didn't believe it for a second when I read it, but now... With the moves we've made in free agency (a trade!?), the firing of Mike Brown's little lackey PA, releasing Mike Brown's favorite suck up Pacman Jones...
Maybe... Just maybe... Mike Brown has finally stepped down
