The good and the bad
#1
Good, I'm going to get a Sawstop table saw which if you don't know has a mechanism to stop the spinning blade in mili-seconds, maybe nano-seconds when your skin makes contact .
Bad, I just chopped into my fingernail and into the bone of my index finger. ..again .
So this is going to set me back about $1700-2000, but it's worth it .
If you're in the market for a safe and pricey saw check out Sawstop's features..

If you've never had a finger mangled by a spinning blade, trust me . You don't wanna.

Used a block of wood to push the boards you are cutting.

Cost you about a nickel.

just to clarify the saw set you back 2000 or the reattaching of your finger?

The new saw will set me back.. My finger wasn't detached , just merely mangled with the fingernail and flesh under it pretty much destroyed ..  Not nearly as much fun as portrayed on TV..  The only thing the docs did was to clean and wrap it up . The only reason I even bothered going to the hospital was to get a prescription for antibiotics. I knew they were going to just wrap it.

Hope it was your non-dominate hand.

Injure a finger on my left hand and I don't even notice.  On my right hand it just makes me realize that on average I pick something up a thousand times a day.  Not to mention all that wiping, washing, squeezing, cutting, twisting, pushing, and holding.
