You’re the GM

Which direction are you going in round 2? Tackle? Guard? Safety? Linebacker?

What say you?

Also, what direction do you think THEY will go?

Since we won't pay guards, best tackle available.

I'm taking BDPA. That's best defensive player available.

If Hernandez is there, they better grab him.....

After getting a good player at our greatest positional need, I feel like today is just gravy. No need to reach today as there lots of good players at positions that we could use an upgrade as others have pointed out. That being said, I'd like to:

- Get another lineman today to compete for a starting spot at RG or RT this year/take over in 2019.
- Possibly pass on safety unless the value is too good. There are young guys still guys in free agency that I think could help.
- Stay away from TE in the 2nd round

Linebacker or Safety, unless Will Hernandez drops.
Everything in this post is my fault.

I have a feeling that the Cincinnati Bengals are going to pick defense in round 2. Hurst, Harrison, Carter, either Jackson at CB.

If the Bengals miss out on Hernandez, then Braden Smith or Crosby are pretty good for round 3.

I tried getting it to top 10, but I could only get to 11. If I was GM, my "big board" would look like this

Harold Landry - Edge
School: Boston College | Year: Senior

Ronnie Harrison - S
School: Alabama | Year: Junior

Maurice Hurst - DT
School: Michigan | Year: Senior

Rasheem Green - DE
School: USC | Year: Junior

Lorenzo Carter - Edge
School: Georgia | Year: Senior

Justin Reid - S
School: Stanford | Year: Junior

Harrison Phillips - DT
School: Stanford | Year: Senior

Josh Jackson - CB
School: Iowa | Year: Junior (RS)

Donte Jackson - CB
School: LSU | Year: Junior

Brian O'Neill - OT
School: Pittsburgh | Year: Junior (RS)

Orlando Brown - OT
School: Oklahoma | Year: Junior (RS)
Today I'm TEAM SEWELL. Tomorrow TEAM PITTS. Maybe TEAM CHASE. I can't decide, and glad I don't have to.

Orlando Brown with one of the 3rd round picks, I'd be good with.

As for 2nd round... I have no clue.

Don't need QB, RB, WR, CB, so...

Best LB available, DE or OL.

If Josh Jackson is there, he'll probably be the pick. Otherwise, I would really like Hernandez, although I doubt they go that route. I think it's D, so I will go with:

Justin Reid
Ronnie Harrison
Josh Jackson
Mo Hurst
Rasheem Green

I strongly suspect they'll go Defense in Round 2, but I hope they go OL with Connor Williams. Now way will Hernandez be there. Jamarco Jones or Orlando Brown in Round 3 would get me going.

If not Connor Williams in Round 2, is there a LB good enough for that pick?

The last time they picked offensive line players 1 & 2 it didn't exactly turn into the greatest thing since sliced bread so I kind of doubt that they double down like this again so soon. On the other hand they really seem to like sliced bread and now they apparently seem to have a guy who can actually slice bread the right way. After all, sliced bread is still the greatest thing since sliced bread . Who knows? Maybe Pollack is the kind of guy who just rips pieces of bread off the loaf instead of slicing it.

That is my question, is there a LB good enough for the 2nd round?  I don't like the idea of trying to make someone into a LB at the NFL level. Yes I am thinking Carter, has he played LB before? I think it has to be safety in RD 2. Personal favorite is Bates III but wouldn't be to unhappy with Harrison or Reid here. Rd 3 I would get Rankin or Jones.

Lorenzo Carter can play linebacker imo.

Depends how they feel about Billings but they could go with another run stuffer

Corner is always on the table

And...they could still beef up the o-line....imagine if Daniels is still there..ha

DE
LB
TE

Not a lot of highly ranked players at these positions

How nice would it be to get Will Hernandez? Just imagine an interior OL of Boling, Price, Hernandez? We could just run up the gut, 4 yards and a rugburn, all game long. Marvin would be on cloud 9 with those brutal, defense exhausting 12 minute drives.

However, I don't think they are likely to do that. What I think will happen is after letting Lazor/Pollack get their man in the 1st, they go on to let the other new coach get his man on the defensive side of the ball. Austin being tagged as a specialist with the secondary, I lean toward Safety.

Regardless there will be a pretty good player on the board when we pick. I would love any of the following.

QB-Rudolph(my dark horse)
OT- Crosby, Williams(either my 5th just cause Brown might be there in 3)
OG- Hernandez(1st choice), Daniels(2nd choice), maybe B. Smith
DT- Hurst, Phillips
DE- Landry, Sweat
LB- Jefferson(4th choice)
CB- Josh Jackson ( If he's there in sure we take him)
S- Harrison(3rd choice), Reid

I think they go Defense first tonight, probably Safety or linebacker, but if I'm making the pick and Hernandez is sitting there at 46 I could not pass him up.

With redmon and westerman coming on last season when given a chance... And the potential for OBG Fisher Hart to also compete for RG

Id say we go OT if we get another lineman over a Guard.
