3rd pick in Round 5. Bengals loading up on Defense. Has received awards in college for his Special Teams. Started out as a WR at Western Michigan but moved to CB. So here is a guy that can return kicks and go in at DB on Defense or WR on Offense if needed. Versatility.

Well, the Bengals said they wanted playmakers who could force turnovers. Darius Phillips set an FBS record with 12 career runbacks for TDs (5 KO returns, an FBS record five pick-sixes, 1 PR, 1 fumble return). His 3,145 career kickoff return yards ranks sixth in FBS history

Amazing playmaker, was wanting this guy as early as the 4th, only reason he fell is he is from a small school.
Great returner, ballhawk and is a solid CB as well. Talk about gamechangers Bates III and Phillips = BOOM.
Darius Phillips is a great pick fellas, man we are deep at Corner and on ST's now...

An electrifying return man? Welcome to the Bengals, Darius Phillips!
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

#MACtion, love this guy!
It'll be interesting to see which DB's make the roster... I'm a fan of DeVontae Harris as well.

Can we just start calling them "Master(Bates) and Captain(Phillips)"?
We needed a Master and Captain in our secondary, as well as an angry man at Center.....

I’d say Darius Phillips was my favorite Day 3 pick. I really hope the coaches give him a shot to compete with Erickson and Wilson for return specialist duties.

Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

uh huh, I said..Who? than, DANG this dude makes happy things happen. He may factor well as a nickle back and also add punch to Spec Teams where Erickson really has been pretty good.

biggest weakness on this team is Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton. Both will pull this team down.Bill Lazor is a yes man and the rest of this staff is unproven.Alot of you are already giving Frank Pollack praises, but he was let go from dallas for a reason, folks To me all these coaches are unproven and I just do not see them being studs at our Bengals.Color me wrong as I want to be wrong. But I see us fininshing last in this division,as its going to be a tough road to grade this season, especially with this brutal schedule.

With the right coaching I think this kid could be our slot corner for years to come excellent returner and a great ball Hawk. There's a good chance in a couple of years there's going to be a lot of teams crying they didn't draft him. He does need to add about 10 lb of muscle though

in the NFL luck and health have to have a marriage in order to secure a successful season.
and you throw in some great coaching by positions.
it was apparent that Paul Alexander and Paulie Guenther game planning during the week
was not working on Sundays.
sometimes even what the coaches bring eventually has a expiration date
new voices are need.
football players are human. at some point they just don't respond to the coordinators are trying to put into action.
Ken Zampese over complicationing his x and o's. you saw the results. there were none.
Lazor somehow was able to construct and piece together a gameplan with oline lacking intensity.
Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis the problem....?
3 years ago Dalton was playing at a high level before Stephan Truitt ended his season
exit Hue Jackson and you give Andy, Ken Zampese.
that's like asking Stephen Hawking to train.Usain Bolt.
Marvins problem.is he let guys like Alexander stay around too long.
he brought back Kevin Coyle.
at least Marvin admitted he needed to bring new voices to wake this team up.
Frank Pollack is the X factor this year.
he going to instill a more intense approach in regards to the oline.
why did Dallas let him go?
who cares. Dallas loss our gain. im.just glad Alexander is no longer here teaching our lineman how to be passive.
I see a better season for the Bengals
health and better coaching will propel this team to.the playoffs

Because Jerry Jones has never made a stupid decision? The guy that just hired Paul Alexander? Right...
