DB Logjam

I think we're going to go with 11 because Shawn Williams plays more Nickle LB than Safety this year .

Jessie Bates left the Bengals and that makes me sad!

Wasn't "DB Logjam" a rapper from the '90's?

Yeah when trying to win now you don't normally drop experience for fringe rookies especially if the rookies arent blowing people away.

Just read your post on Shaw. I agree that he's the most likely candidate to be that 9th or 10th DB. I had no idea he had that many snaps or those kinds of ratings. It could come down to Wilson or Phillips for that final spot. Simmons will have some say in the matter.

Wow! Where has all this love for these two guys come from. Experience dosent always = better. But yes I would drop Williams and Russell in a heartbeat if that's what it takes to keep Shaw.

Russell makes plays everytime he plays pretty much. Interception his first snap as a Bengal in regular season...

Int in the Preseason game we just had.

WTH has Harris done this Offseason to have Kei Russell cut?

Shaw will make the team don't worry.

I think we go with this:

LB"s- Burfict, Brown, Vigil, Evans, Jefferson, Lawson, Shawn Williams(Hybrid)

Db's- Kirkpatrick, Dennard, Jackson, Russell, Shaw, Iloka, Bates, Fedjelem, Wilson, and one of the 5th rounders.

Cuts: Rey. and one 5th rounder to practice squad.

Russell has been here two years and got on the field for a total of 47 defensive snaps.  So the question is what has he done to keep his spot another year.

Rey isn't going anywhere.

Burfict is suspended and has injury/suspension history.  That leaves Brown, Vigil, Evans, and Lawson.  Jefferson is a rookie with a limited role at this point in time based on his performance thus far.  The team is thin at linebacker, therefore, I can see them keeping Bell or Nickerson.

May come down to Shaw, Wilson, Harrison, and Henderson for two spots at Defensive Back.

Exactly, don't understand people haven't seen that this guy plays flawless when he gets a shot everytime.

Haven't even seen the guy get beat once yet this guy Harris that is getting beat all the time is getting hype. Shocked

Kei Russell was a 3rd round pick from the Chiefs, tons of talent and has just played great for us so far.

Don't cut this guy please.

If I were the Bengals FO, I would cut MJ on final cut down day to create a spot for Burfict who has to be on the roster for a few days. A team is not going to sign MJ (if on the roster week 1 his salary is guaranteed all of 2018), then resign MJ once we pull Burfict off the roster for his suspension.

This way we don't place someone out there another team may snatch up quickly who has a low salary, but proved during preseason they belonged on a NFL roster.

I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.

Cut Og or Fisher too at the same time and bring in another OT and i think these would be great moves.

I think one (maybe both) of these guys will be cut, but I don't think the move will be with to intent to resign them a few days later.

Agreed, if they continue to play poorly, there just isn't a point in messing with them anymore.

Making matters more complicated, Lapham reports that CJ Goodwin looked very good in his playing time against the Bears. Funny, because I didn't realize that he'd been in the game. LOL They didn't sign him for no reason. Evidently, not hopeful of our rookies being as well-developed as they want them.

Or looking to make the practice squad a great one. Good problem to have new guys looking good.

But, I would bet most fans watch preseason and sees stars everywhere....LOL

Only to discover they never made the cut

I like Phillips for his Returner abilities and the way he is a natural at always being around the ball but Harris is
going to have a hard time making this roster it seems. Forgot we even got Goodwin, thanks Shady for reminding
me. Thinking Harris is more of a project.
