Computer drawing pads?
#1
My son wants a drawing pad for his laptop. Anyone familiar with these. He actually needs a new laptop so I thought I would get one with a screen he could draw on directly but those are very expensive ($800-$1200).

Apparently "touch screen" laptops/tablets are not the same as he ones that you can use to create art.

Any help?

I use an hp envy with Corel programs. All told, it's under $1000 but I got both on sale.

Microsoft surface is the standard, but, honestly, I'm super happy with my envy so far. It's integrating Corel a d adove programs, laying out a magazine and surfing football message boards

Mr. Toast, I have a Wacom  Intuos pen tablet model CTH-480. It hooks up to usb port. its a small pen tablet. I paid about $80 for it. The writing surface is about  8"x5"
Its a smaller one. wacom makes different sizes.  I use a program called photoscape x pro.  Works pretty well and is recognized by the software easily.

Hope you find this info helpfull sir.

For just about anything electronic these days the first place I always check is http://monoprice.com  It's also the site I buy new charging cables for all devices. They're dirt cheap in price and very high quality cables. They carry drawing tablets and such as well although I haven't priced them there. .
Here ya go.. https://www.monoprice.com/search/index?keyword=drawing+tablet
Check out their essentials section for cables and so on..

Not sure what your price range is, but my friend does art and she uses a GAOMON PD1560.
She said she got hers for under $400.
